Banker Golf Scorer — Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 21, 2026

What we collect

Banker Golf Scorer works without an account; in that case everything you enter (player names, handicaps, scores, bets) stays on your device. If you create an account, we collect your email address, a display name, and the rounds you save (courses played, players' names as you entered them, scores, and money results). If you email a round summary to your playing partners, we keep the addresses you sent it to, alongside the name you gave each player, so you don't have to type them again and so we can see how Banker spreads between groups. Those addresses are only ever sent what you chose to send them (the summary, with one line about getting the app); they are never added to our mailing list.

How it's stored and used

Account data and saved rounds are stored with our database provider (Supabase) to provide the app's features: signing you in, keeping your round history, and letting players you share a round code with view that round's live summary, and anyone you text a finished round's link to view that round's summary. Round codes are random and only reveal the round they belong to. We also keep a note of whether your subscription is active, so we know which of our customers to write to about what.

Email from us

We send email you've asked for — a confirmation when you create your account, a password-reset code, the round summary you send to your group. Separately, if you leave the "Email me about Banker" box ticked at sign-up or turn it on under Account, we may send occasional email about Banker: offers, new features, and news for the golfers who use it. Never more than a few a month, never anyone else's marketing, and never your scores or bets. Every such email has an unsubscribe link, and the switch under Account → Profile turns it off at any time. We send email through Resend, which sees your address and the message and nothing else.

Subscriptions

The Banker subscription is purchased through the Apple App Store. Apple processes the payment — we never see or store your payment details. We use RevenueCat to check whether your subscription is active; it receives an anonymous device identifier and, when you are signed in, your account ID and email address as labels on that record, along with the purchase receipt Apple issues. That is used to unlock the app on your devices and to tell us which accounts are subscribed.

Scorecard photos

If you use the scorecard scanner, the photo is sent to our server and on to Anthropic's Claude API to read the par and handicap rows. Photos are processed to extract those numbers and are not stored by us or used to train any model. Point the camera at the scorecard rather than at people.

Advertising measurement

We advertise Banker on Meta's platforms, and the app includes Meta's SDK so we can tell which ads actually bring golfers here. It reports basic app events — an install, a subscription — to Meta. iOS asks your permission before any advertising identifier is shared: if you decline, no identifier is sent and those events cannot be tied to you personally. The app behaves identically either way. Nothing about your rounds, scores, bets, or the people you play with is ever sent to Meta.

Verification (optional)

You can choose to verify your profile. Banker Verified uses Stripe Identity: Stripe captures a photo of your government ID and a live selfie, checks the document is genuine and that it matches you, and tells us the result. Banker receives and keeps only your verified name, mailing address, date of birth and the ID's expiry date — never the images, and never the ID number — and asks Stripe to delete its copy once we have the result. Your verified address is used only to match a club statement and is never shown to anyone. Stripe's handling of the check is described in Stripe's privacy policy.

Club Verified adds a statement from your club, which you upload. We read the club's name, your name and address, and the date from it (using Anthropic's Claude API, which does not store it or train on it), a reviewer confirms the match, and the statement file is deleted the moment a decision is made. We keep the four fields and a note of the decision. Club+ adds a phone call to your club, which we log by who we spoke to and when.

Your badges and the clubs you list are visible to other signed-in Banker players. Who has vouched for you is visible to you and your Players; others see the count. Club and Club+ lapse three years after approval; Banker Verified lapses when the ID expires. Removing a club from your profile, or deleting your account, removes the related records.

What we don't do

We do not sell your data, show ads inside the app, or collect your location. Apart from the advertising measurement described above, we use no third-party trackers or analytics.

Deleting your data

You can delete individual rounds, or delete your entire account and all of its data, at any time from the Account screen in the app. Deletion is immediate and permanent.
